What program can I use to create a webpage?
- Most document creation programs, including MS Word, Excel, and Publisher, will let you save in .htm, .html, or .pdf formats.
How do I save as a different file type?
- When you click "Save As", you'll see a bar at the bottom of the window where you can select the file type.
Which file type should I use?
- For text only: .htm or .html looks best. It blends with the church website nicely, especially with Arial 9pt font.
- For graphics, tables, or a complicated layout: .pdf is easiest. Pictures are automatically included, and the layout won't be altered.
What do I name the file?
- Keep it short, simple, with no spaces or symbols.
My .pdf file is bigger than 1MB. What do I do?
- When you save as a .pdf, look for the option "Standard" or "Minimum Size" right before the "Publish" button. These will reduce the final file size.
I have a file bigger than 1MB I really want to upload. What do I do?
- You can use FTP instead. Ask Fedor for help.
When will new files appear on the website?
- If you just replaced an existing file, it will update instantly.
- If this is a new file, you will have to wait until Fedor creates a link to it, probably within 24 hours. Check the new link box (to the left) to send him an alert.
