SUMMER CAMP AND MISSION TRIPS

 

Leesburg Summer Camp—June 28-July 3 (Rising 4-12 graders) Register online at www.warrenwilliscamp.org and call Sue in the youth office to reserve a seat on the church bus.

 

Mid High Mission Trip to The United Methodist Children’s Home with Islands of Adventure on the last day—July 11-17 (Rising 6-8 graders). The cost is $200.00. Click here for flyer.

 

Sr. High Mission Trip—to Miracle Lake in Etowah, TN—June 20-26.  The cost is $250.00 and includes white water rafting.  Lodging will be at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.  This trip is for rising 9-12th graders. Click here for file.

Oceans 4 Youth – This new group will meet during the summer after services around 11am at Wiggins Pass, (in the last parking area) on 5/30, 6/27, 7/25 and 8/22 to spend the day at the beach. All Families of the congregation are encouraged to attend and bring a dish to share.  This group will be led by Chris Thompson and Jason Baumgardner.  The goal of this group is to get youth involved in ocean activity.

 

Confirmation Weekend – Our confirmation class of 2010 comes to an end next weekend with a Beach Baptism on Saturday May 15th at 10am and Confirmation Sunday at the 9:30 am worship on May 16th.

  

Cell Phone Recycling — Our youth are collecting old cell phones to donate to the Shelter Alliance program.  A collection box is located in the Youth room. Through this program over 7,000,000 phones have been contributed to thousands of organization in 50 states and Canada and Puerto Rico. 

 

 

 

 

What We Do

The Youth Ministry at North Naples United Methodist Church exists to proclaim who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for the world. We are striving to achieve this through worship, study and relationships.

Here are some of the ways we accomplish our goals:

  • Storm Surge is our Senior-High group, grades 9-12. We meet 6-8 p.m. on Sunday evenings. We play, we worship and we share a meal.
  • Storm Warnings is our Mid-High group, grades 6-8. We meet 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday afternoons. We play, we worship and we share a meal.
  • Haven is the name for our small groups. These groups meet at times agreed upon by the members of the group. Haven exists to be a place of refuge for our students here at North Naples United Methodist Church. It's a place where they can grow spiritually in order to answer the "Great Commission."

Retreats

The youth ministry goes on several retreats throughout the school year.

  • We participate in the Christian Music festivals in Orlando in September.
  • We take two different annual trips to the Florida Keys for age-specific worship and fun around the reefs. The weekends are geared to the two different age groups who are part of this ministry.
  • We also offer some seasonal retreats. In December, the group goes Christmas caroling and then we have a lock-in. During Spring Break, we go skiing in Colorado.
  • We offer three different Mission Trips during the summer months that are age-specific.
  • We strive to serve our community once a month by visiting local assisted living facilities.
